Dr. Florian Lüdeke-Freund takes over the new chair for Corporate Sustainability
Dr. Florian Lüdeke-Freund complements the Professor Team for Sustainability and Entrepreneurship at ESCP Europe Business School Berlin since October 1. The scientist and expert on issues related to corporate sustainability and environmental and social entrepreneurship represents the Chair of Corporate Sustainability. Prior to this, he worked at various national and international universities, including Leuphana University and Copenhagen Business School, as a guest researcher. At ESCP Europe he is now responsible for setting up the Chair of Corporate Sustainability and is the academic director of the new Master in Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Innovation, which will start in the winter semester of 2018/19.
The expertise and research focus of Dr. Florian Lüdeke-Freund are in the area of innovative business models in the context of ecological and social sustainability. He earned his doctorate in economics and social sciences in 2013 with a PhD in “Business Models for Sustainability Innovation – Conceptual Foundations and the Case of Solar Energy”. In addition to his work as a research assistant at various universities, his research on sustainability also led him to stay in Switzerland at University of St. Gallen, and to South Africa at Stellenbosch University. Dr. Florian Lüdeke-Freund is the initiator of the research platform Sustainable Business Model. Since 2013, he has been working with scientists from more than ten countries to address key issues related to sustainable business models.
“ESCP Europe enters uncharted territory with the Master in Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Innovation – so far, there is no comparable degree programme in Germany or internationally,” explains Drs. Florian Lüdeke-Freund. “Building up this course, teaching, researching, entering into scientific exchange and getting to know the range of sustainable business ideas of the Berlin startup scene is an exciting challenge. We will pay special attention to developing further tools to implement sustainable business models in companies,” Lüdeke-Freund continues.
